2014 Beauty Trends

Orange Lip Stick

Many models now are sporting the new shade. Will orange become the new red?
Grey Hair
The years and hundreds of dollars women have spent trying to get away the grey is not changing and younger people are now paying to achieve the grey look.  Will dying hair become obsolete? I don't think so but this grey hair has been seen on celebrities like P!nk and Rihanna.

Kale Smoothies

I have to say I'm a victim of this trend but I have to say this is a great trend.  Drinking a smoothie can be very beneficial to your health and an easy way to get your nutrients.  Juice bars are now in malls and have store fronts and some companies offer 3, 5 or 7 day juice cleanses.

Shows to Binge Watch During Christmas Break

Christmas break in my opinion is about relaxing.  Sense I started working I would spend the days of my break working and most breaks working late on Christmas break.  Working is important but don't forget to relax and spend some time for yourself and relax, drink some coco, and watch some tv.
1. Gilmore Girls
This show is about the relationship between a mother and daughter.  The show is about a teenage mother who is now raising a sixteen year old daughter with dealing with her own relationships with her parents and her daughters love life.

2. Arrow
Warning give yourself time to watch this show because you will not want to leave your couch until you finish.  There are two seasons on netflix, the show is about fictional character Oliver Queen who returns from being on an island after a ship wreck then comes back to protect his town from people who his father believe failed the city.

3. American Horror Story
To be honest Im not a giant American Horror Story Fan but I do find it a very entertaining idea.  The show now has four season three being on netflix and each season features a different scary story.

4.  Hart Of Dixie
My favorite part of Hart of Dixie is how much you change feeling about the characters when you watch it.  First I hated Jamie King's character Lemon but now she's one of my favorite.  This show doesn't just have a love triangle its more like an awkward pentagon between the main characters.  If anyone reading this watches hart of Dixie heres who I think everyone should end up with.  Lemon and Wade, Levon and Zoe, and George and Annabeth.

5. Bones
If you plan on watching Bones I would stop when Bones says she's pregnant.  This show was great when they where focused on the murders and not the relationship between Bones and Booth.  The older season and are great especially if you are recovering from getting your wisdom teeth out and need to keep your mind occupied from the pain.

Braids to Wear this Holiday season

Don't Be Common Fashion is Back!

Braided Bangs
Random 2000s trivia Lauren Conrad made this look famous when her bangs where cut too short and she started braiding them to keep them in place.  This braid is perfect for it you are wearing your hair down or in a ponytail and want to add a little style to your hair.

Waterfall Braid
I love this braid! It is very complicated and takes a few times to get the pattern down but once you get it you will never forget it!

Braid Bun
Running late for your party? A bun braid is perfects because they take less than five minutes and look like they took hours and ounces or hair spray.  Just don't forget bobby pins.
Elsa Braid
Even though I'm not a giant frozen fan this braid is gorgeous and I wish I not only could do this braid but had the gorgeous hair to pull off this braid.

Happy Holidays!!

Slut Shaming

Slut-Shaming is an unfortunate phenomenon that is when a person mocks or degrades a women because she participates in what is not considered "acceptable" or "normal" sexual activity for a female.  Slut-Shaming is a term that is most used in regards to women and not men.

The Double Standard
If a man walked into a room of his peers and talked about his last night with a women he would be praised and admired.  While if a women walked into a room and said the same story as the man the chances of her being admired and praised are very low.  In Toronto a police officer told two girls that they could avoid sexual assault from not dressing slutty.  Which prompted the Slutwalk in protest.  Has anyone ever told a guy to not dress slutty? Has a guy ever been giving a second look for wearing a toga on Halloween?

Slut Shaming Needs to Stop
When I was in High School I heard the term slut, whore, and thot multiple times during the day.  The only way for slut shaming can stop is for people to be educated on what those words really mean and what It feels like to be called one of them.  Slut shaming is immature and it's sad to what it has become today.  Bette Midler is a 68 year old women who called Ariana Grande who is 21 a whore.  Slut Shaming needs to stop because I really hope that when I'm 68 the word whore is not in my daily vocabulary.

DBC Does Tinder

I'm pretty sure every college student has had a tinder and has at least swiped left or right at at one point. So I made a Tinder for myself and just got way too creeped out.  So I made a fake one.  Used some socialights photo who was about my age.  Tinder is really a game when you think about it even when you get a match it says message them or keep playing.  So I played the game.  There where two rules in this game.
1. Only swipe right
2. BE the most boring individual possible

With in and hour I had 256 matches in only a two mile radius with a profile with nothing but my name and a photo and my phone was going off every second with new messages and matches.  Then the "game" started.  Within talking to someone in five minutes "I" had a date.  My only response to this person was "yeah" throughout the five minute conversation.  Who wants to date yeah?

Then things got a little more interesting.  With me making a one word response I got another "tinder date",  I got offered to smoke weed and or drink cheap vodka.  Oh how so romantic.  I wonder why Nicolas Sparks never thought of these great dates.  If it takes a one word response to get invited on a date don't go and don't even think about going.

Then came the rugby player who figured me out.  This is probably the only positive I got someone who didn't just want a pretty face to talk to.  I would say that 90% of my conversations started off with "you're pretty" but to make it worse many of them used your.  Then there was the guy that said "You seem rad" sorry but you can not tell if someone is rad or not from the way they look in picture because it's all fake.  Everything you read online can be fake and lies.  I'll admit if I'm home watching Netflix and someone I like texts me I'll defiantly say I'm out doing something.  My favorite though would have to be the guy that said "I lost my teddy bear and was wondering if I could sleep with you" Honey no, just no.

With in an hour I had twenty seven dates and hundreds of conversations going with me only responding with yeah, good, and cool.  A guy that had a horrible opening line asked to start over talking me after I was a complete bitch and when I stopped answering these posts the messages didn't stop.

This little experiment was a lot more interesting that I thought it was going to be.   When my phone was going off with messages and matches I was wondering what I could do with this.  If I sounded interesting or went along with there conversations it would all lead to the same endpoint.  I thought it was crazy that in an hour I had over twenty dates when I was only saying one word showing no personality or even talking about my self.  Just think about this next time you're on tinder.  Is it your words or your photos?

P.S.
The Worse first Messages I got
2 Miles away? I didn't know heaven was so close?

you could choose between having pokemon be real and world peace... What pokemon would be your starter?

Music make me a little crazy. How about you? Lol what's up.

How did the hipster burn his tongue? Because he drank his coffee before it was cool.

You can I holla for a dolla???

Do you have the boobies?

So did you swipe for the beard or the terrible pickup line?
If you were a transformer you'd be Optimusfine

Love and the Internet

Every day I read many articles about fashion/makeup/ and love.  Fashion and makeup I have pretty well covered and can help someone in those situations but love is something I have very little experience with because when someone tells me their relationship problems my advice is pretty much always to let them go.  The reason being if you're not happy whats the point of staying in the relationship and if they really love you they need that time away to figure out what they want.  But every article or just about every article I find online I find hilarious because it will not help you in real life. Here some on the craziest ones I've seen.

20 Tips To Make Him Fall in Love with You
Fist I'm going to ask you would you want to make a guy fall in love with you?  In my opinion love and relationships are never something that should be forced because you wouldn't want to be with someone who just thinks he wants to be with you.  You want someone who knows he wants to be with you and wants a future.

15 Flirting Rules to make a Guy like You
If a guy likes you he will like you if your horrible at it or amazing.  Think about it if you like someone for their personality and humor would you care if they sucked at flirting?  Flirting doesn't last that long once you have him theres no need to continue flirting because you're getting into the serious parts of the relationship where you actually learn who the person is inside and out.

15 Tips to get a guy to Text You Back
If a guy doesn't text you back it's really no big deal.  Don't sit in your bed watching sad romantic movies all day clutching your phone waiting for him to say "hi".  Get out of bed and do something you never know you could run into him and he can see that him not texting you back meant nothing to you.
Love can be something amazing that lasts for a while but It can also be something that breaks you down and makes you wish you never kissed them in the first place.  When every relationship ends you ask yourself if it was worth it.  Sometimes all the work and pain won't be equal to the happiness and the love.  At my age putting myself out there for another person was the riskiest and scariest thing for me.  My advice is act yourself in the beginning if it will be worth it, if the pain is worth the potential happiness.
