Turkey Day Football With some Tasty Parings

I hate to break it to my New Englanders out there but you will not get to see Tom Brady's nice looking face on thanksgiving. There are three games on thanksgiving starting at 12:30.  Perfect time to put out some appetizers, right?

12:30 CBS Bears VS. Lions Pared with Buffalo Chicken Dip and Your Favorite IPA

The Detroit Lions are at it again.  Can the repeat their win they had last year against the Packers?  This game should be interesting because it features the leagues most powerful offenses lead by Matthew Stafford and Jay Cutler. 

Buffalo Chicken Dip



Prep Time: 5 Minutes
Cook Time: 40 Minutes
Ready In: 45 Minutes
Servings: 20
INGREDIENTS:
2 (10 ounce) cans chunk chicken,
drained
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese,
softened
1 cup Ranch dressing
3/4 cup pepper sauce (such as Frank's
Red Hot®)
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
 
1 bunch celery, cleaned and cut into 4
inch pieces
1 (8 ounce) box chicken-flavored
crackers
DIRECTIONS:
1.

Heat chicken and hot sauce in a skillet over medium heat, until heated through. Stir in cream cheese and ranch dressing. Cook, stirring until well blended and warm. Mix in half of the shredded cheese, and transfer the mixture to a slow cooker. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top, cover, and cook on Low setting until hot and bubbly. Serve with celery sticks and crackers.

Stuffed Mushrooms Paired with Belgian Trappist Beer

Its around 6 and your stomach is starting to growl after the 3'oc turkey, instead of those potato chips try these Stuffed Mushrooms.



Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cook Time: 40 Minutes
Ready In: 1 Hour 
Servings: 12

INGREDIENTS:
12 fresh mushrooms
1/2 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon minced onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup bread crumbs
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon chili powder
DIRECTIONS:
1.Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Remove and chop mushroom stems.
2.In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ground beef, onion, and garlic. Cook until beef is no longer pink; drain. Mix in chopped mushroom stems, 1 tablespoon butter, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, and stir in cream.
3.Dip mushroom caps in 1/4 cup melted butter, and stuff generously with meat mixture. Arrange stuffed mushrooms in a baking dish. Sprinkle with chili powder.
4.Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven.

The Classic Pecan Pie and J.W. Lees Harvest

Cook Time: 40 Minutes
Ready In: 1 Hour 5 Minutes

"A pecan pie without the corn syrup. Pecans, white sugar, and brown sugar are combined to create a satisfying dessert."
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans
DIRECTIONS:
1.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
2.In a large bowl, beat eggs until foamy, and stir in melted butter. Stir in the brown sugar, white sugar and the flour; mix well. Last add the milk, vanilla and nuts.
3.Pour into an unbaked 9-in pie shell. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes at 400 degrees, then reduce temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until done.
