Essential Beauty Products for college

1. Basic Makeup

Everyone likes to dress up and use different type of makeup but in reality in college all you need is a small cosmetic bag.  All I have in mine is canceler and foundation and a few eye shadows.

2. Lotion

I think that every day you should be keeping your skin hydrated especially when it starts getting colder.  Put it on your skin right after you shower while your skin is still wet.

3. Body wash

It's not like at home when you can leave a bar of soap in your shower because most colleges have have communal bathrooms.  Buy some body wash and a loofah and just don't forget to take it out of the shower when you are done.

College Fashion

Many of you are heading off to college or if you're like me have already started classes and have been doing homework.  I am a freshman and the last thing a freshman wants to be known for is being a freshman.  But think about this seniors we have four years of fun and yours is almost over so don't take your anger about leaving out on us.  The way I learned to tell the freshman at my school from the other grades was surprising.  Here is what is ways to tell the grades from another...

Freshman

Freshman are known in my school to rep the college attire like a pro.  College shirt with matching sweatpants topped off with a hat.  The number one thing not to do is wear your school id around your neck.

Sophomores
Sophomores here are known to dress up.   Which is funny because I have a way of knowing if this stereo type is true.  One day thing week I was wearing a skirt and got mistaken for a sophomore .

Juniors
Juniors on the other hand tend to dress more casual.  I have a question are overalls in fashion now? because my campus is covered in overalls and high wasted shorts

Seniors
Seniors here are known to walk out of bed and go to class in their pajamas

Crazy Superstitions

So I was walking through my room and my compact mirror was on the ground under a blanket and i stepped on it.  Which means now I should have seven years of bad luck.  So this made me think that i should research these superstitions  because we all heard them but where do they come from.  Interesting little fact I learned was in Spain eating grapes at midnight will bring good luck.  Which last night I got home from work at midnight and had some grapes and now I have seven years of bad luck :(.

The history of Acorn Superstitions:
Yes something as simple as a fruit on a oak tree that falls to the ground and animals eat has superstitions.  The acorn was a talisman worn as a pendent because they thought it had magical powers.  During storms people use to hid under oak trees because they believed it was safer but it is actually a very dangerous place to stay during a storm.  In the 1600s acorn juice was given to alcoholics as a cure and prevention.   Today people carry around acorns because there is a belief that it prevents aging.  If two lovers put two acorns in to a bowl with water and each acorn representing themselves and they float to each other then they will marry in the future.

Tuck in you thumbs if you go by a Grave yard

In japan if you walk passed a grave yard you are required to tuck your thumbs into you pocket.  That is because the Japanese word for thumb means parent finger.  And in doing so tucking your thumbs into your pocket protects your parents.
Black Cat Superstition
This is what believe to be the most communally known superstition.  Everyone has heard don't let a black cat cross your path.  Last week when I was driving a black cat ran in front of the car in front of me and "crossed his path".  In history black cats where never considered scary, evil, or anything to fear until they started to be connected to witches.  People in Europe believed that witches produced black magic and cats where seen being fed by lonely old ladies that where later accused of witchery.  In the 1560's a father and son where walking and a black cat crossed their path and went into a crawl space and the father and son began to throw rocks.  The the helpless injured animal ran into a women's house who was accused of witchery.  The next day the father and son ran into the women and she was bruised and limping and the two men drew conclusions that the women was in fact the cat they have been throwing rocks at.

Hey Everyone!

First I have to apologize.  I created this blog to be here for people and express why fashion is a great thing and should not be something that is critiqued.  But working three jobs at the beginning of the summer then two throughout the summer to make money for college left little time to work on this blog and sadly no time to do any shopping haha.  I thought it would be cool do do a  little question tag for what I've been up to this summer.

Question 1: What is the best part of summer time?
The best part of my summer was realizing what and who is really important in your life.  If something you are doing or someone is your life doesn't make you happy change that for the better because trust me you'll be sad for a few moments and then you'll smile and you will realize it was all for the better.

Question 2: Do you tan or burn?
Normally during the summer I am a complete lobster but this summer the largest time I'm outside is when I'm eating my lunch in-between work so I've built up a nice gradual tan and only had one painful burn this summer.

Question 3: Favourite summer nail polish?
I love my purple pastel Revlon nail polish.  And the best part is it dries in under a minute and anyone who knows me knows I'm the most impatient person in the world and waiting five minutes for polish to dry always leaves to smudges.

Question 4: Favourite summer drink/beverage?
Newmans own lemonade.  Honestly the best lemonade out there trust me.

Question 5: Favourite summer clothing item?
High waisted shorts.  I got three pairs from American eagle for about ten dollars and they are the best shorts because they look good and they actually can fit an iPhone in the front pocket.

Question 6: Favourite current phone app during this summer?
Wanelo would have to be the most used app on my phone.  It easy to just scroll through and see things you like and especially finding cute objects for your dorm room.

Question 7: Favourite summer movie?
I'm actually going to change this question if that's ok.  my favorite summer show has to be big brother.  Ive watched it every summer sense I was 8 but this summer i am obsessed with it.  And I'm so sad Hayden is gone absolutely the best showmance on big brother.

Question 8: Favourite summer beauty product?
Bath and body works cucumber melon body lotion.  It smells amazing.

Question 9: Favourite summer activity?
Reading a book outside on a sunny day.  I just recently just finished dear nobody and am about to start if I stay. (Yet i haven't even started my summer reading book for college.

Question 10: Favourite type of lip product for the summer time?I love baby lips by maybelline.

(sorry I just had too lol)

i hope everyone's summer is going well. xoxo-dbc
