Jade Bloom Oils Review

Jade Bloom Oils was created to deliver health, happiness, and healing to everyone.  They make the highest quality oils at the lowest cost.  They are all natural and organic.  I found out about this company through Instagram, and let’s just say, my time was not wasted on social media that day.
One of my biggest concerns is having healthy hair. There’s nothing I love more than being blonde, but it destroys my hair and makes it not “shampoo commercial” worthy.  I bought their lavander and rosemary oils and after a few nights saw results in my hair.

Oil is very good for healthy hair and for hair growth.  I applied the oils to the end of my hair overnight, then massaged it into my scalp in the morning.  This keeps the ends healthy and massaging your scalp with oil promotes hair growth.

The other two products I tried was their lemongrass deodorant and their blood orange soap.  One thing many people don’t know is the importance of using a deodorant with the least amount of chemicals. Non-organic deodorant has been connected to Alzheimer's.

I had positive results with the soap and also the deodorant.  When using new products like this, one of the biggest concerns is that they aren’t going to work, but these were better than any other drugstore brands.  The reason being is the smell, it was light and didn’t have that chemically smell.

9 Reasons Why You Should Drive the PCH at Least Once in Your Life (And Stops to Make Along the Way)

There’s something about California.

Photo Courtney of travelchannel.com
Coming from an East Coast native, born and raised, the idea of California filled my dreams of a faraway magical kingdom; it taunted my growing restlessness.

I finally got to visit the elusive state, the classic California vacation and road trip. I flew into San Diego and drove the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) to San Francisco. All I can say is everyone needs to not only visit once, but drive the PCH.

The PCH is hundreds of scenic miles (including Highway 5, 1, and 101) of expansive highway that runs north and south along the coast of California: miles of dangerous winding roads, cliff sides, and an unbelievable, unyielding array of ocean.
The PCH allows us to take in a good amount of what California has to offer us. It makes us feel small, a speck in this universe. We feel so insignificant, yet capable of so much. We can be gracious and thankful for this world we were put on. It has magical, healing powers with the ability to stop time while everything is in motion. We feel free, endless. It gives us a taste of everything: beaches, mountains, deserts.

The state holds so much personality, so much talent, brilliance, opportunity, too much to grasp. It’s the perfect state, everything from Hawaiian-esque cliff sides with an insurmountable view of the Pacific to 102 degree deserts to forests of sky-high trees and it all takes your breath away with its versatility.

It really is a world wonder, one that is deep and lasting long after we’ve left. It instills this sense of adventure, wanderlust, humility, and undeniably: love, all felt on a spiritual plain.

It makes us feel as though we’ve finally found what we’ve been searching for, it hits a tender spot that makes us feel as though we’re finally home again regardless if it’s our first time or our hundredth.

A small exploration that resists close-mindness, encouraging us to think outside of this little bubble we tend to put ourselves in.

It’s one of those places where the impossible seems just in arms reach, we can sell all our belongings, ditch our friends and family, and escape with little to no money and no job without looking back.

Most people don’t view a short vacation this way, but if we take a moment to allow our emotions to flow in; I’m not wrong.

And, although I didn’t get to play in all the beautiful cities that the PCH veers into, I love California and I can’t wait to be hugging the Cali Cliffside once more.

Some must see places to stop include:

1. San Diego

I flew into San Diego, bypassing the downtown towers and railroad tracks. I wasn’t able to explore as much as I would have liked, but the few moments I did spend in San Diego, I could tell it was a city worth visiting.

2.  Huntington Beach

Sunsets on the beach and much more.

3. Los Angeles

homehero.org
from San Diego, Highway 5 runs straight through downtown Los Angeles. The traffic is horrid, but it gives you a taste of the LA lifestyle – the good and the bad. An abundance of hills, magnificent homes, and the notorious Hollywood sign, it really is something else that I have trouble finding the words for.

4. Santa Barbara

From Los Angeles, you can take I-10 for a longer route to reach Malibu or continue on Highway 5 which merges with Highway 101 heading west to hit Ventura. A few miles north is Santa Barbara: my favorite beach city to drive through. Even from a moving vehicle, it is apparent the joy living in Santa Barbara would bring. The coastline, mountains, and perfect weather was to die for.

5. San Luis Obispo (SLO)

SLO is smack in the middle of Central Coast Wine Country. Numerous vineyards surround the highway with rows and rows AND ROWS of grape vines. It is incredible to think about all the work and wine that comes from the vineyards. Fun Fact: You have to squish between 600 and 800 grapes to make a bottle of wine.

6. Hearst Castle

Turning left, heading west out of San Luis Obispo, you finally hit Highway 1, the PCH. Even if you don’t have time to visit Hearst Castle, it can be seen from the highway. A fairytale in itself.

7. Piedras Blancas of San Simeon

Via: Melia Topic
Stop at one of the viewing points and experience the elephant seals of California. They don’t do much, but the hundreds of seals sun tanning allow you to appreciate just a small portion of the Cali wildlife.

8. Big Sur

Via: Melia Topicz

Big Sur encompasses a range of sightseeing from the notorious Bixby Bridge, to Pfeiffer Beach, to Mcway Falls. In the simplest terms, the Bixby Bridge is the Golden Gate Bridge of Big Sur. It soars 260 feet above a canyon and has a 320 foot concrete arch span. Pfeiffer Beach, one of the top 10 beaches in California and home of the purple sand, will take your breath away. Mcway Falls was my favorite; a waterfall that cascades onto the beach. I don’t know where else one is able to see such a sight so accessible and for zero dollars.

9. San Francisco

Via: Melia Topicz
San Fran is an incredible city. I spent the most time there and can see why so many people love it. The hilly roads surrounded by those San Francisco type homes (think Full House) and numerous things to do, it is a city to explore. The Golden Gate Bridge is a must, Muir woods is a must – witnessing the 300 feet tall Redwoods. Also, Dolores Park deserves an afternoon: grab a six pack, some snacks and sit on top of the hill, people watch, and gaze in amazement at the city around you. Locals and visitors sun bathe, drink, play beer pong, eat, sell edibles out of a basket, and just relax.

These are just a few places to relish in when experiencing California and the famous PCH. There are numerous beach cities, amazing places to sight see, and if you do all or none, at least take Cali for all it is, all it has to offer, and all its glory.

31 Outfits to Copy in July

After I came home from college, I realized that summer starts off slow and before you know it, it’s the end of August and you're getting ready to go back to school. Here's some outfit inspiration to last you the whole month of July.

July 1

Shorts: Guess
Cardigan: Landsend
High waisted shorts are the staple piece of my summer outfits because they are the perfect excuse to wear a crop top.  Summer nights (at least where I live) get cold, so always leave a cardigan or sweater in your car just in case.

July 2

Dress: ASOS
I feel like everyone thinks maxi dresses are too fancy for a summer day, but they couldn't be more perfect.  Also, they are extremely comfortable and you don't have to worry about finding the perfect shoes.

July 3

Tank: Guess
Skirt: Torrid
This season is all about lace up tops and high neck sleeveless tops. One of the biggest struggles with high neck tops is finding the right bra so you don't have any straps showing.  Instead of wearing a strapless bra, because let's be honest those are uncomfy af, wear a bralette.

July 4

Dress: SSense
This dress is absolutely perfect for a 4th of July cookout. What I love about this dress is the pattern, it's small enough that it is not overwhelming.

July 5

Dress: Garnet hill
Silky shift dresses are one of my favorite things to wear in the summer.  The reason being, July could not be more hot and uncomfortable, but this dress is perfect for a warm summer day.

July 6

This beach cover up is perfect for any beach day, its cute design and colors will make your beach day even more enjoyable.

July 7

Dress: Nordstrom
My two favorite colors in the summer are blue and white, and when they match up together, they are even more amazing.
P.s. Nordstrom, if you're reading this, help a broke college student out.

July 8

Dress: Leggsington
At first I wasn't a fan of the trend with the cut out in the front, but in my opinion, it is a cute way to add a little sex appeal to a dress that would be basic without it.

July 9

Dress: Tobi
This is a perfect outfit for a summer wedding on a Saturday afternoon.  Blue is a great color to wear at a wedding because it doesn't clash with anyone, also brides tend to go with purples and pink for bridesmaids.

July 10

Tank: Tank
Skirt: Bonanza
The best way to add a little spunk to a classic outfit is to add a pattern and have the other piece of your outfit a neutral color.

July 11

Sweatshirt: Urban Outfitters
Monday are meant to be lazy, but it doesn't mean that it can't also be a day to look very fashionable.  Crew neck sweatshirts are the best way to stay warm while also being extremely adorable.

July 12

Shirt: Revolve
Pants: Vinyard Vines
I am absolutely obsessed with these pants. I have a pair like this but I never thought about wearing heels with them.  I think this is the perfect outfit for a night out in the summer, it’s sexy while also being cute.

July 14

Skirt: ASOS
Off shoulder shirts are an great addition to your summer wardrobe and paired with a pleated skirt, your outfit could not be more perfect.

July 15

Dress: Tobi
What I like about this outfit is how unique the dress is.  It takes an interesting spin on color blocking by making a pattern block.

July 16

Skirt:Shop bop
Top:ASOS
This skirt is absolutely amazing, and kinda an allusion at the same time. What I love about this outfit is all the different colors and prints, which you would think would take over the outfit, but is actually flattering.

July 17

Romper: Oasap
Rompers are perfect for those hot days, and they make your outfit look extremely complete with just a simple one piece outfit.

July 18

Dress: Modcloth
Everyone should have at least one floral summer dress in their closet.  One of the most underrated shoes for dresses is a cute pair of sneakers.

July 19

 Shirt: brooksbrothers
Skirt: revolve
Pastels are not just for spring, they are also perfect for those sunny days and warm nights in the summer. Also, lighter colors show off a tan the best!

July 20

Dress: unique-vintage
Shift dresses are one of my favorite styles.  They are a great way to show off your shape, while also showing off your legs.

July 21

Dress: ASOS
This is a great dress for a July wedding that is a little more fancy.  Your hair is tied back and away so you can dance all night.

July 22

Shirt: Macys
My favorite part of this outfit is the lace detail on the arm of this shirt; I also love these lace up heels.  Whenever you wear jeans in the summer, always cuff them, it is an easy way to add style to your outfit.

July 23

Tee: Etsy
Skirt; Jcrew
If you ever want to make your outfit look very chill, always wear a cute shirt with a tee shirt tucked in.  What I love about this style is it shows off your waist and arms.

July 24

Tee: revolve
Muscle tees are great for summer days that are too hot to handle.  They have great ones that will not remind you of the Planet Fitness commercials.

July 25

Jackie:
Tee: Rag Bone
This outfit is very simple, and yes maybe a little basic, but there is nothing wrong with dressing classic.  Also, I love the leather jacket.

July 26

Kimono:Macys
Jeans: Barneys
Heels: Macys
Blouse: Old Navy
Kimonos are a great way to add some flow to your outfit in the summer.  They are also a way to add an interesting print.

July 27

Dress: Nordstrom
Yellow is one of the hardest colors to pull off without looking like a character at an amusement park. The trick is accessorizing as best you can with neutral colors.

July 28

Body suit: Etsy
Shorts:  Revolve
Graphic t-shirts are no longer something that was for when you were in 5th grade.  They are coming back and are more popular than ever.

July 29

Jeans: Express
Jacket: Urban
This is a great example about how to mix neutrals, while also having a pale pop of color.  With neutrals you don't want to distract from them, therefor go for a light sweet color.

July 30

Blouse: LL Bean
Jeans: Gilt
Heels: Ann Taylor
What makes this outfit is the shoes and the cross body bag.  Adding one or two color pieces to any outfit can completely take it to the next level.

July 31

Top: Maycool
Shorts:Jc Penny
Scallop anything in my opinion is a summer must, whether it's a skirt, dress or shorts, they are perfect to make your outfit super chic.

An Open Letter to My First Love

Dear X,

I'm writing this letter because over the years I've tried to forgive you, but I don't think it's possible.  One thing I hold over everything is honestly, you broke through all my walls only to build them up two times higher, and then you pulled the plug.  When we parted it should have been the end, before all the lies, hurt, and all the time I lost.  My life I loved will never be the same after you.

As you hurt me, as you insulted my intelligence, and made me feel small; I fell so hard in love with you, and now I feel numb, nothingness.  Everything you said and promised me about the future was only a fabrication of what you thought I wanted, to make me stay, and make me love you.

After all this time, I ask myself, why I loved you.  There were so many moments when I just wanted to shut down and end everything before things got complicated and hard.  When I moved away I realized how much you meant to me, and leaving you felt like a part of my body ripping apart.

You broke me more than I ever thought humanly possible.  I was never the girl to be crying over anything; I was stone cold and you were the first person to make me express love.  Every part of me loved you.  When I was having a stressful day at school and you would say how much you missed me and you couldn't wait until I was home.

When I look back at us, letting you in was all my fault.  You were the attractive vampire I let into my house, and took all the life out of me.  Your smile and the way you held me, made me melt, into a lovestruck teenager I would have said "Oh honey" to.  When you would say you were too tired to do something, or busy, I should have seen through it.  When you made these excuses it seemed harmless, and I believed and trusted you.

In the end you were not a mistake, if anything you are one of the best decisions I've ever made.  You made me realize that someone like you is the last thing I need in my life.  Even though I don't find you a negative part of my life, the good parts of us outnumber the painful moments by a great deal.  But you did something that I don't find forgivable.  Cheating is something I find unforgivable.  Promising to be faithful to someone and breaking that promise is not a mistake.  It's not forgetting an anniversary or not calling me back.  It's something I had to get over on my own.  I had to learn to get through my stressful college days without a sweet call from you.  Coming home without escaping with you, I had to learn to live without love.

Wherever you are in the world right now, I do hope you're happy.  Even though I will never forgive you, and never be able to open up and connect to someone easily.  The only thing I would ever want to say to you is: don't treat people like this.  If you're going to be with someone, be honest with them, and don't hurt them.

15 Questions Fashion Tag!

I've been told I'm full of secrets and surprises.  Which I always thought was a good thing, you can never tell what to expect from me.  This is for all the people who want to know a little bit more about me.

1) What is your favorite style to wear?

Classic, I’ve never been into very “girly” clothing, even though I do love occasionally dressing up in heels and a skirt. I’m most myself in a pair of high waisted shorts and a cute blouse.

2) Who is your fashion role model?

One of my biggest fashion role models is Kerry Washington, I’ve never seen her on a red carpet or in her daily life looking anything less than perfect.

3) What do you always have on?

One thing I always have on is my Cape Cod bracelet. I got it when I was in second grade for Christmas and it only has left my wrist for sports games; also, it’s a little of a pain to take off.  If you’re ever looking for the best Cape Cod bracelets stop by The Unique Boutique.

 4) What are your favorite jeans?

My favorite jeans are a skinny jean from American Eagle.  I don’t know what it is about these jeans, but they are magic.  Jeans literally never fit me, I swear I must have the weirdest fit, but in these jeans I’m flawless.

5. Do you own something you've never worn?

Sadly, this is the worst part of my fashion addiction.  I have a closet full of things, that I’ve mostly only worn once or things I wear multiple times a week.

6. Most comfortable article of clothing I own is my?

If you’re ever looking for the best gift to get anyone for Christmas, get them a mystery flannel or mystery sweater on Etsy.  They are possibly the most comfortable piece of clothing I’ve ever worn and my life would not be the same without them.

7) Who influenced you to write about fashion?

What influenced me to write about fashion was how it, in recent years, has had a negative influence.  I’ve always loved fashion and never wanted to see it as a negative.  I created dontbecommonfashion.com as a way for people to share their love of fashion without any judgment.

8) What is your fave store?

The ones I can afford or the ones I watch for sales like a pro? The stores I love, but can't afford yet are, Free People, Anthropologie, Alice and Olivia and Nordstrom.  The store that is my favorite would be American Eagle.  They always have the cutest clothing, and the prices are the best for a college student.

9) Who is your fave fashion inspiration on Instagram?

Lulu*s has one of the best fashion Instagrams on Insta in my opinion.  Not only do they have great fashion inspiration, but they have the perfect memes.

10. If I could I would wear (blank) everyday?

If I could wear a shift dress every day, I would be perfectly content.  The reason being is that style of dress is perfect for anything.  You can put a blazer of it and then head out to a party after.  Just replace the blazer with a cute necklace.

11) Which character's closet would you raid?

Mindy’s from the Mindy Project / would love to live in her apartment (that sounded a little creepy, but her apartment is NYC goals)

 12) If you had $ 5,000 to spend on any one item, what would it be?

In a heartbeat, I would buy the best camera possible.  One of the things that makes a blog stand out is the photos on it. That is the one thing I desperately want for my blog is to have all original photos, but an iPhone does not cut it.

13) Heels or flats?

14) What purse do you currently use?

15) Is fashion in your blood or your jeans?

Fashion is definitely in my blood. When my mother was my age, she was designing and sewing all her clothing.  Whenever I have a question about a dress to wear for an event or even if I’m just going to a dinner with my friends, I always ask her opinion.
