The Pear shape: When your thighs and hips are larger than your top, like Shakira, Beyonce, and Kim Kardashian.

What to Look for: You need to look out for a suit that will compliment both your top and also cover your bottom.    

DBC Tips:

For the bottom: Stay away from thick bottoms.  Thick bottoms have an extra layer of material that will make your stomach and butt look larger.  Try a bathing suit with a little skirt to compliment your waist.

For the Top: Make this the part of the bathing suit that is going to be the attention grabber.  You can do a cool neckline or a eye-catching print.

Large Bust

Large Bust:  The most important thing to remember here is support and coverage. You don’t want anything to be exposed on a public beach.

What to look for:  Look for a top that has as much support as your everyday bra.  Look for molded cups and underwire.  For the top look for something without ruffles or flowy fabric.

For the top: Look for something that has as much as or more support than your bras.  Look for bathing suits at the same place where you get your bras because most of the time, they offer the same tops as they do bras.

For the bottom: Go with a print because your top is not going to have any beading or ruffles.  Spend a little more time searching for a really cute bottom - it’s worth it!

Small Bust

Small Bust: You have a smaller bust, typically and A or a B cup.

What to looks for: Because you have a smaller chest, you can look for tops that offer less support and have ruffles or beading that creates the illusion of a larger chest.

For the top: Get a  top with ruffles or a print overlay, and look for something that is eye-catching.

For the bottom: Get something that matches the top and fits well.

Athletic

Athletic: Your Body is very fit and you have fewer curves than most women.

What to look for: Look for a bathing suit that has less coverage. It will create the illusion of curves.

Top: Look for one-pieces or tops that have patterns because this will create a curvy frame.  

Bottom: Look for side tie bikini bottoms.

Tummy Concealing

Tummy Concealing: You are built more like an apple shape, and you hold most of your weight in your tummy.

What to look for: Look for a bathing suit that you feel comfortable in.  Once you’re at the beach there is no turning back.  If you wear a bikini or a one piece make sure you feel comfortable.

My Fashion Bucket List

Bucket list posts are very interesting because they show what someone wants to do with their life and what their goals are.  Also, I feel like it is the best way to get to know someone.  Like the question, “If you could do one thing before you die, what would it be?”  This, my dears, is my Fashion Bucket List.  This is a list of everything I want to do before I’m 30 that involves fashion.

Wear A Red Dress On A First Date

Red is always a color I avoid because I think it's too much, but red is an amazing color.  It’s a scientific fact that you catch more eyes wearing red than any other color.  Wearing a red dress on a first date is something of a risk, which in fashion, and also in life, is something you need to do.

Get Married in a Non-White Dress

I completely believe in marriage, but personally, I think having a giant wedding is extremely pointless for me. Nonetheless, I really want to plan a giant wedding.  Yeah, it doesn’t make any sense to anyone but me.  When I get married, I want to go against the social norm of wearing a white fluffy dress and wear something a little different.  

Work As a Stylist

A job I would love to have is to be a stylist for a TV show or a movie.  Clothing is something that creates a character, and it’s crazy how a character's fashion changes with what they are going through on their scripted life.  

Attend Fashion Week

I would love to dress all in black and sit front row on fashion week - literally, best Christmas gift ever.  But unless I’m as famous as Kate Moss, the chances of that happening are slim to none, but even if I’m sitting in the nosebleeds of a fashion show, I would still love it just as much.  

Dye My Hair a Crazy Color

For the past two weeks, I’ve been telling my friends, parents, and everyone else that I want to dye my hair grey.  But for my summer jobs, I think it’s probably a little much.  Before I settle into a professional job, however, I would love to rock some crazy locks.  

Design a Dress And Wear It to an Event

In my life, I have made about 25% of a shirt.  I would love to design, draw, and create a dress to wear to an event.

Ever since I saw that episode of Gossip Girl I have wanted to go to one of these.  Think about how interesting it would be to wear a gorgeous gown and then be around a bunch of people covered in masks, and it’s not even Halloween.  

Learn How to Tie a Tie

Even though I will probably never wear one, it’s a skill that I think every person needs to learn.  

Be Able to Run in Heels

This one is something that I’m a little sad I don’t already know how to do.  There is actually a run that supports a charity every year where the women run in heels.

Bela is not really a toy dog; she likes her treats and bones, but for some reason. whenever I wake up in the morning, this is on her bed.  So maybe she sleep-plays?  This toy is made very well.  When Bela was a puppy teething, these kinds of toys would break apart in a matter of days, but this one stays strong.

Kerry Washington: Style Icon Of The Week

This is the first of my style icon posts. Every week, I'm going to pick a celebrity to feature.  When I was thinking about what pictures to choose, I was thinking about showing my favorite looks that they have been seen wearing.  The problem with that is that you can find what every celebrity wears every time they walk outside,  with any google search.  What I'm going to feature is what I think the celebrity is best at in fashion.  Kerry Washington is possibly the most fashionable human being in the world.  What I believe she is best at is using every color to its full potential.   

Red

This is possibly the fiercest outfit I've seen Washington wear.  What I love about this outfit is it has a slit in the leg but also has a different draped neck line.  The draping on this dress could cause her hips to look larger, but the belt adds shape.  When wearing a long dress, it's best to show your shape and not to lose your curves in the dress.  

 Blue

I feel being pregnant and a celebrity is challenging because you want to dress comfortably, but people poke and prod about everything you wear.  This dress is perfect because it's a loose dress and looks comfortable.  What Washington did that was smart was curling her hair.  It’s smart because it builds a better form for the outfit.  

 Grey

Grey is not usually sexy. It's the hardest color to pull off without like you're walking into a business meeting for a presentation on what product product sales for this term. But Washington rocks it in this outfit.  When wearing grey, have a statement piece like the clutch Washington is using.  

 Orange

Orange is possibly the hardest color to pull off.  What is kind of genius with this outfit is that she matches it with black, which, even though you would think it would see a little Halloween-like, looks great.  

 White

Anyone who is a Scandal fan knows that Kerry Washington can pull of white like a professional, and she never looks less than flawless.  

My Summer Wish List

This week I said, "I can't wait until the day I can afford Anthropology."  Sadly, it won't be for a while until I can afford the floral print heels that cost more than I make in a week.  For this post I'm going to share some of the items I've been obsessing over and am a little crushed by the time I would ever be able to afford them they will be way out of style.

One pieces are one of my favorite pieces of swimwear.  The only problem is it is impossible to find one that is cute, affordable, and made well.  This bathing suit has a great shape and even if you don't have an hourglass figure, this suit will give you one.

When you work as a waitress or busser having a great reliable wallet is a major necessity.  Last night I was leaving and all my change fell out of my wallet.  I have an accordion style wallet but it is not as high quality as this wallet but I could only afford $20 tradsey.com buy, but still I check eBay on the weekly about a Kate Spade wallet in good condition.  

French Bulldog 

Technically this isn't on my summer wish list, more like my lifetime since 5th grade list.  But sense I'm still in college and work 80 hours a week it's probably too early for me to own one of these squishy face cuties.  

Grace And Frankie

Whenever you watch a show like Grace and Frankie, it is usually a complete waste of your time or you can’t imagine why someone hasn’t tried this idea before.  What I mean is the idea behind Grace and Frankie is a little insane.  Well, let me explain…

The Plot

The series starts out with two women in their 70s, Grace and Frankie, who are waiting for their husbands at dinner.  The women obviously have known each other forever and can’t stand being any more than three feet from each other.  The women are discussing what the giant news their husbands have to announce to them. Thinking this news is about their retirement, they couldn’t be more wrong.  It turns out the two men the women have been married to for 40 years aren’t just partners in business, but life partners for 20 years.

The Cast

The main cast is Jane Fonda as Grace, Lilly Tomlin as Frankie, Sam Waterston as Sol, and Martin Sheen as Robert.  The show also stars Brooklyn Decker, June Diane Raphael,  Baron Vaughn and Ethan Embry as their children.  

What I Loved

Sol And Frankie

The problem with captivating the audience with comedies is that there is no depth to the show.  Nothing ever goes wrong on comedies, but this comedy has both laughs and heartbreak.  The part that is the most powerful is Frankie and Sol’s relationship.  Unlike Grace and Robert, Sol and Frankie were best friends, and Frankie was completely in love with him.  

Grace and Frankie

Grace and Frankie’s relationship was something that I thought was going to be just like every polar opposite character pair in movies who hate each other and then randomly decide to like each other.  Each episode shows that the women do grow close to one another, but the playful jabs don’t stop, which was a smart idea for this show.  These two women have disliked each other for four decades, so they are not just going to decide to not have little burns for each other.  

The Children

This was my favorite part of the show, honestly.  On one side, you have Grace and Robert's children, who knew their parents were not in love and honesty are not really a family.  Then you have Frankie and Sol’s children, who used to be a happy little family, but they were broken apart by this.  Also, the writers built great characters because everyone is completely different.  Bri is clearly broken and wants someone to love her.  Mallory is caught up in her life as a mother and is overwhelmed by it,  but she cares deeply for everyone.  Coyote is struggling with his addiction and also his feelings toward Mallory.  Nwabudike shows how much he cares about his family and even how protective he is over Brianna and her well-being.  

What I Didn’t Like

Guy

To be honest, the only part I didn’t like about this show was Guy.  He was supposed to be this extremely interesting man who lived this incredible life, but he was so boring.  Also, that sex scene was just too awkward to handle.  

The Finale

The ending of this show ending with me screaming and running down stairs to tell my mom what happened.  And lets just say the gossip girl OMFG should move on to this show.  Halfway through the episode, you could kind of tell it was going to happen, but I never thought it would.  

Watch it, then tell me if the ending has you more confused than the first episode.
